Atom probe analysis of the bulk amorphous Nd58Fe30Al10Dy2 ferromagnet

► Atom probe analysis of bulk amorphous Nd58Fe30Al10Dy2 alloy has been succeeded for the first time. ► The exact composition of Nd nanocrystals in the as-cast bulk amorphous alloy has been determined. ► The added Dy has been found to partition into the amorphous matrix phase. ► Quantitative analysis of the two phases in the as-cast bulk alloy has been achieved. ► Critical composition information for coercivity analysis has been obtained.
