The purpose of this research paper is to determine the optimal factors of heat treatment process of ZE41A magnesium alloy. The process variables solutionizing temperature, solutionizing time, aging temperature and aging time are use in the study of optimization of tensile strength and acoustic emission counts by response surface methodology follow a central composite design. Four factors, three level, central composite, face centered design matrix is used to optimize the required number of experiments. The mathematical models have been developed by response surface method (RSM). The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicate that the proposed mathematical model obtained can adequately describes the performance within the limits of the factors being studied. These models can be used for selecting the values of process variables to get the desired values of the response parameters.
► AE count is connected with tensile strength activities for ZE41A magnesium alloy.
► Solutionizing temperature and aging time are the most influential factors on the response.
► The results of the analysis justifying the closeness of fit of the mathematical model.
