Preparation and structural properties of Lu2O3:Eu3+ submicrometer spherical phosphors

► Monodisperse Lu2O3:Eu3+ spherical phosphors were obtained. ► Lu2O3:Eu3+ spheres were characterized by effective luminescence in 575-725 nm range. ► Luminescence efficiency of phosphors increases with rising of annealing temperature. ► The shape of phosphors was destroyed at annealing temperature up to 1000 °C. ► The phosphors developed are attractive building blocks for scintillation films.
