Structural study and properties of a new iron phosphate Rb9Fe7(PO4)10

▶ This study describes the synthesis and characterization by X-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility and Mössbauer spectroscopy of a new iron phosphate of composition Rb9Fe7(PO4)10. ▶ This compound displays interesting structure distinguished by the presence of FeO6 and FeO5 polyhedra and Fe2O10 units of corner-sharing FeO6 and FeO5 polyhedra. ▶ The open character of this structure makes the compound potential for ionic conductivity and ionic exchange.
