Reactive sintering study of a novel cemented carbide hard alloy (W0.5Al0.5)C0.5-Ni

▶ (W0.5Al0.5)C0.5-Ni was prepared by reactive sintering C, Ni and W0.5Al0.5 alloy powders. ▶ The efficiency of synthesizing (W0.5Al0.5)C0.5 increases greatly by Ni. ▶ The optimal sintering condition is under the temperature of 1410 °C for 150 min. ▶ No NiCx/W3Ni3C type phases were formed during the sintering process.
