The polyaniline (PANI)-coated β-AgVO3 nanowires have been synthesized via a simple dip-and-dry method. The β-AgVO3 core and PANI layer can be clearly observed in single nanowire. The electrochemical properties of the PANI-coated β-AgVO3 nanowires were systematically investigated and compared with the bare β-AgVO3 nanowires. It was found that the as-prepared β-AgVO3/PANI nanowires exhibit higher capacity and better cyclability than that of the bare β-AgVO3 nanowires. This result indicates that the conducting PANI nanolayer coating helps to preserve high capacity, maintain high electrochemical stability, and reduce charge transfer resistance during cycling performance. This simple synthetic route, which involves no polymerization or chemical reaction, will offer great opportunities for the scale-up preparation of other polymer-coated composite materials.
