Diamond-like carbon decoration enhances the field electron emission of silicon nanowires

► DLC decorated SiNW hybrids are fabricated. ► The field emission of SiNWs has been enhanced due to DLC decoration. ► Parameter K indicating an ability of electron emission from emitter is proposed.
