Effect of substrate and film thickness on the growth, structure, mechanical and optical properties of chromium diboride thin films

► CrB2 films are grown by thermal evaporation. ► Films are grown on Cu, Si, borosilicate and fused silica substrates. ► Structure, microstructure, optical and mechanical properties are studied. ► All these properties are strongly substrate dependent.
