A further insight into pores in plasma sprayed hydroxyapatite coating

►Globular pores were found on surface, cross-sectional facet and fracture surface of plasma sprayed HA coatings. ►The mechanism of the globular pore formation was revealed based on structure evolution of plasma melted HA particles. ►A double process is suggested to fabricate a more beneficial coating structure.
