Thermally sprayable grafted LDPE/nanoclay composite coating for corrosion protection

► LDPE modified with maleic acid by γ-irradiation technique to improve its adhesion strength on mild steel substrate. ► Modified LDPE characterized by different techniques to confirm the grafting of maleic acid on back bone of LDPE. ► LDPE and LDPE-g-MAc characterized for thermal properties and MFI to study its suitability for flame spray application. ► Incorporation of nanoclay in modified LDPE shows improvement in resistance to corrosion.
