Amine functional groups on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) surface were grafted in dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma with allylamine as monomer. The grafted amine groups were verified by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and, the calibration of amine density on surfaces was carried out through fluorescence measurement technology and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The measurement of water contact angle confirms the functional group grafted on the PET surface by a smaller angle of droplet, i.e. the more hydrophilic behaviour. As an application the cell adsorption behaviour was evaluated in-vitro on plasma treated PET films. It obtains that a very efficient cell adsorption behaviour was achieved on treated surface, and the high rate of cell proliferation was visualized.
