Analysis of the turbulent flow and tilt in the codend of a bottom trawl during fishing operations

► 3-D flow and tilt were measured inside the codend of a bottom trawl operations. ► The turbulence intensity ranged 12-37% decreasing significantly by mean flow velocity. ► The turbulence intensity increased with the rate of variation in the pitch and roll. ► The dominant shortest periods of the 3-D flow were estimated as ranged 2-6 s.
