Near-trapping effects for multi-column structures in deterministic and random waves

► The effect of column shape on wave-structure interaction is studied. ► Perturbing structure geometry can greatly change diffraction effects. ► Near-trapped mode shapes are found for a square array of columns. ► A net amplification factor can be plotted to highlight areas of extreme interaction.
