Experimental validation of non-linear deterministic prediction schemes for long-crested waves

► Two deterministic prediction models for long-crested waves are validated experimentally. ► The prediction models are based on non-linear wave models. ► An efficient data assimilation process is associated to each non-linear wave model. ► The experiments were conducted in a towing tank based on the measurements of 10 wave gauges. ► Non-linear prediction models allow for more accurate predictions than the linear approach.
