A hybrid FCASO-SQP method for solving the economic dispatch problems with valve-point effects

► We proposed a hybrid FCASO-SQP method for solving the ED problems. ► FCASO algorithm dynamically tune the parameters of CASO using a fuzzy logic. ► Based on FCASO, SQP technique is further used to improve the solution of ED problems. ► Applications in ED problems with 3, 13, 40 generators demonstrated its superiority.
