Analyzing zero emission strategies regarding impact on organizational culture and contribution to sustainable development

The philosophy of Sustainable Development is intensively discussed in politics and industries but rarely transferred to the reality of business processes. Nevertheless, zero emission techniques and systems seem to be a possibility to realize the vision of sustainable companies and societies. As they are usually radical innovations of industrial processes, product-service solutions and technologies, organizational culture is an important and highly sensitive factor. During the implementation of Zero Emission techniques and systems (ZET), the role of organizational culture is evident in the support of the vision of sustainability, reduction of organizational complexity, enhancement of acceptance and further improvement. In the following article the three basic elements of ZET (improvement of total productivity, separation of output products and waste, creation of network systems to coordinate input and output) are discussed and assessed due to their cultural impact and contribution to Sustainable Development.
