Fast and efficient sensitivity calculation using adjoint method for three-phase field-scale history matching

► Approach is proposed to speed history match by reduce time for sensitivity estimate. ► The sensitivity is estimated by solving the adjoint equations at large time-steps. ► This approach can save 90% of CPU time and memory required for sensitivity estimate. ► We demonstrate the power of our approach using synthetic and pseudo field cases.
