An experimental investigation into the drilling and physico-mechanical properties of a rock-like brittle material

►We report on results of experiments concerning drillability of rock-like materials. ►We consider the influence of operational variables on drilling rate and efficiency. ►We consider the effect of rock mechanical properties on drilling rate and efficiency. ►Empirical relationships for these considerations are provided and discussed.
