Electronic transmission in disordered systems: A mode based formulation

We propose a modified vector recursion technique using mode rather than tight-binding site basis for representation of the Hamiltonian and wave-functions. We argue that this is suitable for the calculation of resistance of finite slabs attached to semi-infinite perfectly conducting leads.
