Effects of irradiation-particle energy on critical current density in Co-doped BaFe2As2

► We perform Xe- and Au-irradiations in optimally-doped Ba(Fe,Co)2As2 crystals. ► We compare the effects of irradiation-particle energy on physical properties. ► The suppression of Tc depends on irradiation-particle energy and sample thickness. ► High-energy irradiation changes the structure of hysteresis loops more apparently. ► Higher Jc is accomplished by low-energy irradiation possibly due to splayed structure.
