Effects of short-wavelength cutoffs on the fluctuation conductivity σc′ above Tc in the out-of-plane direction are studied in a layered superconductor. Equations with spectral cutoffs are derived in the context of the Ginzburg–Landau theory under two kinds of the cutoff condition, a momentum-cutoff and a total-energy cutoff. From numerical results for our formulae, it is found that, in the vicinity of Tc, both cutoff effects on σc′ are less important than those on the in-plane paraconductivity σab′ while a total-energy cutoff becomes as effective as in the case of σab′ at a temperature range far away from Tc. The present results are discussed in comparison to experiments.
