A new barrier potential and alpha-decay half-lives of even–even nuclei in the 82⩽Z⩽9282⩽Z⩽92 regime

The alpha-decay half-life in a nuclear reaction is mainly affected by the penetration probability, which itself depends on the choice of the barrier potential. Here, we propose a new barrier potential to investigate the alpha-decay half-lives in the even–even nuclei from Po178 to U238. The obtained results are motivating.
