Shell-model structure of light hypernuclei

The status of shell-model calculations that include both Λ and Σ configurations with p-shell cores to interpret γ-ray transitions in , , , , , , and observed with the Hyperball array of Ge detectors is discussed with an emphasis on new data for and from KEK E566.
