Significance of ϕ meson in the study of the partonic matter at RHIC

New results on ϕ-meson production at RHIC and its properties under the extreme hot dense matter have been briefly reviewed. The significance of the ϕ mesons is emphasized for our understanding the hot dense partonic matter.
