In light of the discovery of neutrino oscillations, charged-lepton flavor violating (CLFV) processes (like μ→eγ and μ→e-conversion in nuclei) are guaranteed to occur. The rates for such processes, however, depend dramatically on the mechanism behind neutrino masses and on whether there are new degrees of freedom, beyond those of the standard model, at the TeV scale. After discussing CLFV in a model independent way, I briefly explore its connection with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), neutrino masses, leptogenesis and the current unexpected results regarding the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. CLFV observables provide an excellent diagnostics tool for the new physics that may be discovered at the LHC and may prove to be among the ultimate probes of physics beyond the TeV scale.
