Overview of ATLAS quarkonium results with first data

A brief commentary on the recent results in quarkonium production released by the ATLAS experiment from pp collisions at with 9.5 – 17.5 nb−1 of integrated luminosity in the context of the longer-term quarkonium production mechanism programme in ATLAS.
