FAST: A precision measurement of the muon lifetime τμ and GF

The FAST experiment intends to measure the muon lifetime to a precision of 1 part per million (1 ppm). The experiment and its performances - also validated by the results from a testbeam held in PSI at the end of 2003 - are described here.
