Status of the LCG Project

I report on the current status of the LHC Computing Grid (LCG) project. Some of the basic concepts of the LCG software will be introduced, followed by a description of the current status of the deployed system. Preliminary results from the on-going Data Challenges by the Alice and CMS experiments will also be shown.
