Recent results in charm and charmonium physics

The experiments at the B-factories offer excellent opportunities for charmed mesons and charmonium studies. The recent observation of new states with masses in the Ds and the charmonium regions, whose properties are not fully understood, revived the interest in this field. More experimental results are needed, to discriminate between interpretations based on different models that have been proposed. A selection of recent BaBar results is presented.
