Hadronic Contributions to the theoretical value of (g−2)μ and α(q2)

A brief review of the hadronic contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, g−2, and the running of the electromagnetic coupling α(q2) is given. The future prospects for further improving the accuracy of the determination of the vacuum polarisation contributions are discussed.
