Pharmacological characterization of an imidazolopyrazole as novel selective androgen receptor modulator

► SARMs have anabolic activity on muscle over prostate. ► The imidazolopyrazole was discovered as SARM agonist with mixed agonistic and antagonistic activities on prostate. ► The imidazolopyrazole appeared to display selective anabolic effects without significant effect on the HPG axis. ► The imidazolopyrazole enhanced the preference of ovariectomized rats for sexually intact male rats over nonsexually ovariectomized females.
