Caveolin-1-eNOS/Hsp70 interactions mediate rosuvastatin antifibrotic effects in neonatal obstructive nephropathy

► Caveolin-1/eNOS interaction is essential preventing inadequate NO levels. ► Rosuvastatin treatment can afford protection against fibrosis induction during neonatal UUO. ► Interstitial fibrosis was associated with Cav-1 up-regulation, reduced NO levels and decreased eNOS/Hsp70 interaction. ► NO availability involves protein-protein interaction of up-regulated eNOS/Hsp70 and down-regulated caveolin-1.
