Influence of photoperiodism on the spatio-temporal accumulation of steviol glycosides in Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni)

► The influence of photoperiod on steviol glycoside accumulation was investigated. ► Total steviol glycosides decrease upon generative development. ► Yield during flowering is great under long-days if lateral shoots are included. ► Reb A to ST ratios are inversely correlated with dry matter and steviol glycosides. ► Steviol glycosides show larger variations in stems, roots and reproductive organs.
