Characterization of root cells of anl2 mutant in Arabidopsis thaliana

► anl2 mutant of Arabidopsis forms extra cells, named as intervening cell (IV cell), between epidermal and cortical layers. ► The IV cell originates from a cell in epidermal position. ► Mature IV cell expresses a marker gene specific for cortical cell. ► The expression pattern of GL2 and CPC becomes irregular in anl2 mutant.
