Association of simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers with submergence tolerance in diverse populations of perennial ryegrass

▶ Perennial ryegrass population shows large variation in submergence tolerance. ▶ The population structure (Q) model was the best to describe associations between SSR and physiological traits. ▶ Fifteen SSR markers were associated with a reduction in Fv/Fm, plant height, and relative growth rate under submergence stress using the Q model.
