► Ghrelin seem to play an important role in the regulation of coagulation homeostasis. ► Ghrelin pretreatment returned the prolonged PT and aPTT back to the control values. ► Ghrelin may have a stimulatory effect on the synthesis of fibrinogen in the liver.
