Non-classic androgen actions in Sertoli cell membrane in whole seminiferous tubules: Effects of nandrolone decanoate and catechin

► In this study we showed the non-classical effect of testosterone, nandrolone and catechin in Sertoli cells. ► We investigated electrophysiological parameters in Sertoli cells and 45Ca2+ uptake. ► Catechin and nandrolone produced depolarization in the membrane of Sertoli cells and it was not affected by flutamide. ► The effects of nandrolone and catechin were blocked by diazoxide and U73122. ► We conclude that catechin and nandrolone act through the PLC-PIP2 pathway.
