• The voltammetric behavior of bisphosphoramidates were studied for the first time.
• The possible oxidation mechanism of bisphosphoramidates was demonstrated.
• The interaction of all bisphosphoramidates with DNA was studied.
• The sensing application of the electrodes was studied in solution containing DNA.
The cyclic and differential pulse voltammetric no data returned of five insoluble bisphosphoramidates spiked carbon paste electrodes investigated over the wide pH range for the first time. The quasi reversible redox peaks which followed by an irreversible anodic peak arising from electrooxidation of the symmetrical alkyldiamine and aromatic amine groups presented in the bisphosphoramidates observed by cyclic voltammetry. The shape and position of the peaks are dependent on the alkyl chain length between symmetrical diamine (number of methylene groups) and solution conditions. Interaction of these compounds as anticancer, antibacterial, antiviral drugs and enzyme inhibitory agents with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) investigated and their sensing application reported. The binding of the studied compounds to CT-DNA was found to vary in the order hydrazine-N,N′-bis(diphenylphosphoramidate) (HDPP) > ethylene-DPP > propylene-DPP > butylene-DPP > 1,2 cyclohexane-DPP.
