Triple low : important ou futile ?

Studies have suggested that monitoring of anaesthetic depth allowed reducing hypnotic agents' consumption and morbidity and mortality distant to anaesthesia. Although these results have been questioned, they have lead to study the depth of anaesthesia, the value of blood pressure and the alveolar concentration of halogenates as risk factor of mortality after anaesthesia. Low values of these parameters correlate with an increase in mortality. The design and methodology of this study are discussed in this article as well as the clinical relevance of the results.
