Nausées-vomissements postopératoires : nouveautés

Prevention of postoperative nausea has significantly been improved. New antiemetic agents such as setrons with a long half-life and NK1 receptors inhibitors are now available. Scopolamine and promethazine has recently been demonstrated to be also effective. There is no evidence of the efficacy of acupuncture but some concerning electrostimulation. Prevention of PONV in the ambulatory setting is critical. All that promotes the use of guidelines for PONV prevention must be supported.
