Cervical necrotizing fasciitis are developed from dental or pharyngeal abscess and extend rapidly within fascia compartments of the neck down to the mediastinum if not appropriately diagnosed and treated. Understated clinical symptoms may indeed delay the diagnosis. It is necessary to worry about upper airway compression. The corner stone to assess the extension of the process is cervical and thoracic computed tomography. Treatment conducted in emergency consists in antibiotherapy adapted to aerobic and anaerobic bacterial strains and in large and repeated surgical excisions.
