Conduite à tenir devant un bris dentaire périanesthésique

Dental lesions are frequent complications of orotracheal intubation. Risk factors are: pre-existing poor dentition, and difficult laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation. Due to the lack of evidences supported by randomized controlled trials, the French recommendations concerning the prevention of dental lesion during airway control were based on the consensus opinion of a panel of 15 experts. Risk factors for dental lesion are listed during the preoperative anaesthetic consultation and the patient is informed of the risk. The airway management procedure needs to be adapted during laryngoscopy, tracheal intubation, to reduce the risk of dental injury, the number of claims and the cost of litigation process.
