Place des méthodes de mesure non invasive de l'hémoglobine

Haemoglobin threshold for blood transfusion is controversial. Spectrometric automated detection in the blood is the gold standard for haemoglobin measurement. Non invasive haemoglobin concentration measurement at bedside is based on pulsed co-oxymetry or low perfusion oxymetry. Accuracy and reproducibility of these techniques is acceptable in ICU patients during stable haemodynamic condition. On the contrary in patients with a compromised haemodynamic status, haemoglobin measurement by these techniques is not enough reliable to make confidently a transfusion decision.
