Prise en charge périopératoire des patients opérés du poumon

Thoracic pulmonary surgery for cancer conveys a high morbidity and mortality rates. A standardized pre-, per- and postoperative habilitation procedure may improve morbidity and mortality. Preoperative procedures include cessation of smoking, nutritional implementation, chest physiotherapy and physical training and possibly non-invasive ventilation. Peroperatively protective ventilation with tidal volume less than 5 ml/kg and low rate crystalloids infusion decrease morbidity and mortality. Postoperative rehabilitation includes efficient analgesia, early deambulation and oral nutritional support. All these measures need to be supported by a precise assessment.
