Check-list au bloc opératoire : pourquoi elle n'est pas toujours appliquée (et pourquoi elle devrait l'être) ?

There is a real need for a surgical safety check-list to reduce morbidity and mortality, in as much as many adverse events and complications are related to a defective communication between health care providers. The check-list commonly points out issues in management in the operating theatre. Commitment of health care providers is required despite culture-bound corporatism. Sufficiency and quality of recording are required to guarantee the efficacy of the procedure. Setting up an operative check-list is prone to develop safety practices and to decrease perioperative morbidity and mortality.
