Place de la lidocaïne par voie intraveineuse dans la prise en charge de la douleur postopératoire

Lidocaine is commonly used for regional anesthesia and analgesia. Recent trials have demonstrated that perioperative continuous intravenous lidocaine improved perioperative care of patients scheduled for major digestive or urologic surgery. Intravenous lidocaine decreases postoperative pain and duration of postoperative ileus, and in some studies and meta-analysis, hospital stay. Experimental data suggest that this benefit is secondary to different mechanisms: antihyperalgesic, anti-inflammatory, and opioid sparing effects.
