Comment mettre en place une revue morbi-mortalité ?

The Morbidity-Mortality Conference (MMC) is a process validated by a French healthcare agency: the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) whose aim is to improve the quality and safety of care through periodic retrospective analysis of deaths, complications or sentinel events. While the conference setting it should stick to education and patient safety principles supported by the literature. To increase the efficacy of MMC, an emphasis on accountability and robust debate, preconference preparation, broader faculty attendance, and understanding of the ground rules are necessary. MMC should be solution-oriented, and practice quality improvements and teaching modules should regularly be generated from such conferences. This article aims to summarize some specific requirements for a successful MMC implementation in an anesthesia and intensive care department.
