Anesthésie d'un patient porteur d'un anneau gastrique

Laparoscopic placement of an adjustable gastric band is the most common surgical procedure performed in France for gastric volume reduction. The authors describe in this report the main complications of this procedure and describe anaesthetic management of the patients. Gastric banding should not delay surgical diagnosis and care of an intra-abdominal pathology. Esophageal and upper pouch dilatations may occur. A rapid sequence induction must consequently be performed for anaesthetic induction, in urgent or non-urgent surgery.
