Prémédication à la clonidine chez l'enfant

Used as a premedicant, clonidine induces preoperative sedation and anxiolysis. Clonidine premedication reduces the incidence of agitation on induction with sevoflurane and also decreases anesthetics requirement during surgery. Clonidine induces postoperative analgesia. Only mild hemodynamic effects are observed after clonidine administration in children. A 4 mg/kg dose is appropriate for premedication one hour and a half before surgery.
