Analgésie au cours du travail obstétrical : ma pratique de l'analgésie péridurale contrôlée par le patient

Patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) is an optimal technique for pain management during labour. This very safe technique has several advantages such as a decrease in the amount of analgesic solution administered, a decrease in the incidence of motor blockade, and a decrease in health care providers' workload. PCEA better fits analgesic requirement and improves parturients' global satisfaction. PCEA improves quality of parturients' pain management, makes them more self-sufficient, and is worth the extracost it accounts for.
